Biography
Professor in Musicology at Sorbonne Nouvelle University, Catherine Rudent publishes about style and social determination within the area of (mainly French) popular music. She has published L’Album de chansons (2011), and coedited Made in France (2018) and La voix pop (2020). A founding member of the European francophone branch of the International Association for the Study of Popular Music (IASPM), in 2011 she created a book series about popular music : Musiques populaires actuelles/amplifiées.
